Everyone at work is all a buzz about our upcoming holiday work party. I’m very lucky to work for a company that values their employees. Each year, they put together a spectacular event.
What do you wear to a company holiday party? While my style is rather classic and conservative, I think the holidays are a time to play with color and texture–think shimmer, soft flowing fabrics, lace, or velvet.

I love this look, but I would definitely wear a chemise, slip, or cap sleeve tee underneath the top.
This classic style is pure luxury in black velvet.

Soft, romantic and very comfortable, this forest green maxi would be beautiful with few accessories. Drop earrings may be all that is needed.

This black dress topped with gold lace is richly elegant. With a statement dress such as this, accessories and hair should be kept simple.
This raw-edge detail dress may be on the casual side, but the color and cut are lovely.
This foil sheath dress shimmers for a night of dancing.
The wind is howling and the temperatures have dropped. Winter is on it’s way!Time to bundle up to to keep the chill at bay.
Nordstroms, Brocade Intarsia Knit Beret, $34

The weather has cooled near our house and I have witnessed a menagerie of woolen animals roaming and frolicking outside. Is there anything more adorable? While these photos may not be from my neighborhood, they offer a small sampling of animal inspired children’s fashion.

Our warm autumn weather shifted this week to give us a taste of what’s to come this winter. While I’d prefer to stay temperately comfortable, I do love cozy layered fashions.
If you can’t cuddle around the fire, why not get cozy with stylish layered comfort.
Koi is one of the Fall 2013 fashion colors. It may be trending on the runway, and it’s certainly this month’s traditional palette. Yet, I have to ask? Is there really a way to keep it chic?

Truth be told… I’m not brave enough to go with something too bold. While I’m loving this Burberry coat (above), I’m more likely to wear neutrals and add a blouse in either peach or red-orange.

Better yet, I’d stay in neutrals and add orange through accessories.
I’d even prefer to wear black pants, a cream sweater, a black trench coat, and these shoes:
